Wild boar comes from a dedicated farm based in Kent. The farm is inspected on an annual basis to ensure the required quality and standards of animal welfare and husbandry are met.
The pigs graze and root for their own food within their paddocks, although their diet is subsidised with a compound food and in season fruit and vegetables. All sows and boars are kept in family groups living in fenced areas on the farm with bracken and wooded areas for shelter.
The boarlets having been born outdoors are raised outdoors in large paddocks having access to freely range the land.
Wild Boar meat is darker in colour and has a strong, unique flavour.
