Supporting the Stradbroke Gala Festival

Posted on by Lisa Magennis

The sun was certainly shining on the Stradbroke Gala Festival which took place at the Stradbroke Community Centre on Saturday 29th June. With BQP based in Stradbroke it was an opportunity to inform local people of the work which BQP do and the supply chain it is part of. The stand received many visitors, particularly children who were keen to earn themselves a squeezy stress pig, all they had to do was ask a pig related question with the most popular question being “why do pigs have curly tails?”. Recipe booklets featuring bacon and slow cook ideas were also a hit with the parents.

The stand also included a scaled down version of a pig finishing unit, complete with straw! Information boards of the supply chain and empty packs of example Waitrose products were also available, to help explain the unique supply chain in which we operate.

Many thanks to Mark Jagger for organising and to Stella Bartram-Green, Vicki Gratton, Kathryn Mutimer, Ellie Jagger and Lisa Magennis for helping out on the day.
