Mince – but not as we know it!December 16, 2011
Inspired by The Great British Bake Off and the latest Masterchef finals, seven members of the Raw Added Value team decided to come together for some team building with a very festive theme – mince pie making!
Armed with all the ingredients to make their own pastry and mincemeat (definitely no cheating allowed with Rossana heading up the pastry and mincemeat masterclasses!) the team set to work under Santa Hats and to some truly classic Christmas tunes.
A few hours later, mission accomplished and approximately 200 mince pies (give or take a few for crucial tasting!) were finished off with a dusting of icing sugar.
The following snowy day, the team delivered their mince pies to the residents at Symonds House Care Home in Linton – they proved a massive hit with many having third helpings! Remaining mince pies were left to Linton staff, with donations gratefully accepted.
It was a great team building exercise and the residents of the care home were genuinely pleased that the team could bring along some festive cheer.
