Our Macmillan Coffee Morning raises over £900!October 22, 2012
On Friday 28th September, all of the five Dalehead sites joined the UK’s biggest coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, successfully raising a massive £937.96. This will pay for a Macmillan nurse to support a family with cancer for over 35 hours.
Each site sold scrumptious cakes including 368 cupcakes kindly donated by our own ‘Expert Cupcake Baker’ Tracy Turner, Occupational Health Advisor. At Linton, students from nearby Linton Village College had been hard at work baking for the event alongside their teacher Rebecca Landshoff.
They sold their cakes to Linton employees in the canteen and office areas and also found time to sell bacon sandwiches (bacon we donated!) at Ridgeons in Saffron Walden, also a member of BITC and the Cambridgeshire cluster.
A massive thank you to all those that volunteered their time and cakes to make the event a triumph.
