BITC Winner Award

We are thrilled to be recognised at this year’s BITC Regional Awards Dinner, winning the category of ‘Local Community Impact Award’ and receiving Highly Commended for ‘Most Innovative New Programme’.

The ‘Local Community Award’ is in recognition of the ongoing work with our neighbours at Linton Village College, providing additional support and enhancing their Food Curriculum activities through interactive visits. This has resulted in the launch of the Dalehead Enterprise Award and a winning student team and their ‘Pork Powerballs’, a product created by a group of Year 9 students following a Dalehead product development brief.

The ‘Most Innovative New Programme Award’ for which we have been Highly Commended is in recognition of the Dalehead ASPYRE programme, which aims to support and promote young poeple in the rural environment, offering opportunities and greater understanding of the career options within the food industry and spanning the whole supply chain.

Ian Simmons, Assistant Head Business & Enterprise Linton Village College said “….although the Dalehead-LVC partnership is still young we have achieved an enormous amount with many different students and staff at Dalehead in the last 8 months. Having worked in enterprise and business engagement for many years it has already turned into one of the most rewarding partnerships I have been involved in…the award for Dalehead was justly deserved and I look forward to bigger and better things as we move into next year”.
